A low is reaching peak intensity below the Great Australian Bight as we speak. This low will generate significant wave heights of 40 feet, sending up powerful SW groundswell for all Southern Australian Coasts.

Summary: Deep Southern Ocean low sets up large swell event for the southern states.
Swell Origin: Intense mid-latitude low positioned immediately below the Great Australian Bight.
Peak Swell: SOUTH OZ: Late Friday/early Saturday & VIC: Saturday.
Best Days: Saturday and Sunday.
Surfable Areas: Victoria's Surf Coast, peaking at 4 to 6ft under offshore winds on Saturday, easing Sunday. Also Phillip Island, 13th Beach and King Island.
